Rugby Union Winter Survival Fund Application Form

Complete the form to apply for a grant. The Rugby Union Winter Survival Fund (RUWSSF) is being funded by the Government as agreed with the RFU. The objective of the grant is to ensure rugby clubs survive the winter period and minimise the long-term damage to participation. Anti Fraud

The Government will do everything possible to minimise fraudulent claims in relation to the Covid-19 crisis and takes this matter very seriously. As such, the RFU will be appointing an external auditing company who will carry out a detailed audit of Clubs’ applications and claims, as part of the post award assurance process. The process is being implemented to identify any potential fraud which will be taken extremely seriously. It is imperative each club completes the application form as accurately as possible.

Grant and financial details

All financial information must be a legitimate and accurate representation of the club’s current, historic and projected financial position. The RFU will be conducting post award auditing as part of its anti-fraud process.

Net Cash Position

Enter the total cash in all the club bank accounts at the 30 September 2020. This should be the total of all bank statements you submit for September.

Enter the total amount of funds the club has from external sources which are ringfenced for a specific purpose. Examples of this may include grants or loans that have been awarded to the club. These reserves must be evidencable in the form of a copy of grant / loan / donation agreement (dated before 12/2/21) that the club will be required to submit as part of the post award assurance process

Enter the total amount of internal funds the club has formally ringfenced for a specific purpose. Examples may include savings for a facility project or funding put to one side as part of a sinking fund. These reserves must be evidencable for example in the form of minutes from a committee meeting or Treasurer’s report (dated before 12/2/21). The club will be required to submit this evidence as part of the post award assurance process.

Please identify your typical half-yearly operating costs by calculating 50% of the operating costs outlined in the 2018/19 accounts you have submitted. For example, if your Club accounts show that your expenditure was £100,000 during 2018/19, your six month operating costs would be £50,000.

Enter the eligible expenditure under each category the club has incurred or is due to pay out between 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021 (if any annual contracts fall outside of this period but are forecasted out over the year, include this in your calculation).
