RFU Headlines
Adult Male Future Competitions Structure registration open for online consultations
Following on from the Adult Male Future Competitions Structure survey in January 2020, we will be running online consultation webinars throughout June.

The aim of these sessions is to provide further detail on the future competition structure proposals. Feedback on these from players, coaches, referees and volunteers is essential to ensure a future structure that meets the game’s needs, and to help the group reach a final formal proposal. This will then be put to the game later in the summer, ahead of any RFU Council decision for implementation in the 2021/22 season. The virtual process will allow players and clubs to ask questions and enter a facilitated discussion forum.

The following sessions will be running from 7-9pm, unless otherwise stated:

Wednesday 3 June - Level 3 & 4
Thursday 4 June - Level 5 & 6 (Session 1: 3pm | Session 2: 7pm)
Monday 8 June - Level 7 & below (North)
Wednesday 10 June - Level 7 & below (Midlands)
Thursday 11 June - Level 7 & below (London/South East, Session 1 - 3pm)
Monday 15 June - Level 7 & below (London/South East, Session 2)
Wednesday 17 June - Level 7 & below (South West, Session 1)
Thursday 18 June - Level 7 & below (South West, Session 2 - 3pm)

For those not able to make the live sessions, webinars will be recorded, with content available to view for the following two weeks and the ability to submit feedback.

Please note we are asking that each club limits the number of attendees to a maximum of four, including at least one player, and ideally a coach / Director of Rugby. This is to ensure the technology can support potentially large numbers and to ensure a balanced input.

Other Important Information
Supply chain for Rugby Restart
Following the recent Government advice that some sport facilities may now reopen, we are looking at ways to support clubs’ Return to Rugby. The England Rugby Club Hub is an online group buying platform designed as a one stop shop for rugby related products for the rugby community to access at competitive rates. The transactional capacity enables a club to buy a wide range of products from a number of suppliers in one purchase, minimising admin work and supporting budget management.

We now have a dedicated area of the Hub for Rugby Restart where clubs can access the products they may need to help in reopening their facility. At the moment, this is around hygiene and social distancing but as new guidance is announced and the rules are relaxed, more items will be added to the site.

Click below to access the Rugby Restart products or, if you are new to the site, you can create an account below using the steps in our guide here.

You will need your RFUID which can be found on GMS. Rugby Restart products can be found in the RFU Development Projects section.

Sport England and UK Coaching podcast
A podcast featuring Sport England CEO Tim Hollingsworth and UK Coaching CEO Mark Gannon to mark Mental Health Awareness week examines the need for inspirational people in communities to drive increased activity; how the pandemic has brought into focus the way people can be supported; and the challenges that people may face as society moves forward. We think this may be of real interest/relevance to club and CB leaders. Click below to watch the podcast.

University Awards in lockdown
The Students RFU University Rugby Awards took place during lockdown via a short film celebrating people and clubs making a real difference in university rugby. With students at home and the season prematurely ended by coronavirus, there were more than 60 nominations of exceptional contributions covering the fantastic work being done by volunteers and staff across universities nationwide. From those came the difficult task of selecting five overall winners.

Click below to see the winners and see more examples of the great work that rugby-playing education institutions have been doing to support their local communities.

Please share your stories and videos with VeeMontebello@rfu.com or PatriciaMowbray@rfu.com.
