Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update
Please find below the twenty-seventh edition of our Coronavirus (Covid-19) update.

In light of today’s announcements on the easing of social distancing restrictions, we are in active discussions with other team sports, Sport England and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport about how we accelerate some form of a return to community rugby.

We have developed guidance on the re-opening of additional club facilities, including risk assessment guidance and checklists, and this is ready to be released once the full implications of today’s announcements (particularly around reopening of bars) are understood.

Also in the next week we anticipate being able to issue an update on the plans for competitive matches (league and cup) in the adult and age-grade game next season.

Please visit our dedicated web portal on the England Rugby website to access coronavirus information and updates here.

Past editions of these twice-weekly updates can be found on this part of the website. Click here if you need to find a previous edition.

Rugby community doing great things
We continue to receive stories from clubs who are helping themselves and their members to prepare for the return to community rugby, when safe to do so. Many are also helping their communities, like Jordan Mattinson of Whitehaven RUFC who was furloughed from his job as a scaffolder and led his club’s wide-ranging support for their community during lockdown. Click below to read.
Community Spirit

In addition to clubs helping their communities, we will start highlighting clubs’ self-help initiatives, as well as activities being undertaken to improve diversity and inclusion at clubs, on englandrugby.com.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK are proud supporters of the rugby volunteers across England who make up an integral part of the game. Help us recognise your work by sharing your club and individual stories and videos with veemontebello@rfu.com or patriciamowbray@rfu.com.
